Lori K. visited the shop a few weeks ago with her recently finished “Tree Farm Quilt”. She used the pattern Vintage Holiday II by Thimble Blossoms with a couple of minor tweaks like the switching out the heart block from the pattern and replacing it with a tree block instead. She also added a border to enlarge the finished quilt from 78″ x 78″ to 82 inches square.
She used a variety of fabrics collections from the designer trio Sweetwater such as Hometown Christmas, First Crush, Feed Company, The Cookie Exchange and Holly’s Tree Farm. She used a velvety minky on the back for extra snuggles and had it quilted with a tree design by Beatrice at Pumpkin Patch.
She completed the quilt in less than two months for one of her son’s and plans to make a complimentary quilt for the other so she may give them as gifts this Christmas.
Thanks so much for sharing Lori!! We can’t wait to see your next project!

Arlana, one of our very well missed former Hamels-lites was in with a foursome of mini quilts she recently finished.
Pictured below is her Indigo Stars doll quilt made with four inch sawtooth star blocks. The pattern is from the book Jo’s Little Favorites: Timeless Quilts From Scraps and Fat Quarters.
Next is a Pam Buda quilt called Little Bits Quilt. This little one finished at 4.5″ x 18.75″ with the courthouse steps block strips measuring a mere 1/4″ when finished.
Next is her 16″ x 21″ Little Strippy quilt made with Jo Morton fabrics for the sashing and border while the rhe stripswere made with various scraps. This pattern is from the book Jo’s Little Favorites II: A Classic Collection of 15 Small Quilts.
Last, but certainly not least is this 18.5″ x 24.5″ “Christmas Log Cabin – or Not” quilt also from the book Jo’s Little Favorites: Timeless Quilts From Scraps and Fat Quarters. This mini project features half inch finished logs. She had Rhonda at Quilt Nut Creations quilt this one using a double plume quilt design.Thank you Arlana for sharing your charming little quilts and your lovely photography!
