Sew and Tell….Flower Garden

Big FG

Today we have a double Sew and Tell. Both Denise and Kim brought in their English Paper Pieced “Flower Garden” quilt they have been working on for some time.  The pattern is from the book Handfulls of Scraps by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts. For those of you who don’t know, the English Paper Piecing technique is done completely by hand. They have both been working on their projects on and off for over a year and have recently finished the centre of their quilts in which they both used scraps. Although they both used the same pattern they are both very different quilts.

The pattern calls for 7/8″ hexagons which is exactly what Denise used for her quilt, made primarily with Kansas Troubles scrap fabrics.Denise FG close up

Kim opted to use 1/4″ hexagons….yes 1/4″….sooo small.Kims FG QuiltKims close up
